It’s NAR “Designation Awareness Month”!

I didn’t even know until I got this spam e-Pro ad plea for more money email.
In honor of THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®’ Designation Awareness Month, NAR is extending a special offer to members who enroll in the e-PRO® certification course in November. Register by November 30 at http://DesignationAwareness.eProNAR.comto save $25 off the registration fee and receive an additional two months to complete the course!
It goes on and on.
What exactly is the point in a “Designation Awareness Month”? Does the “Pro” in “e-PRO” have TO BE IN ALL CAPS?
If you’re interested in getting the e-PRO designation at the reduced price of $334 (save 25 dollars!) more info is here.

Frankly, if you are reading this post, you can pass the epro test without taking the course, it is kindergarden level.
I don’t feel like paying $334 to prove I can open an email attachment.
OK, so you know from earlier comments that I do think NAR is trying, but I got to tell you that I laughed at this a little. Maybe it’s because of reading too much NAR Wisdom that I am becoming more cynical – but really Designation Month? I am a e-PRO instructor (I don’t take issue with the capitalization – but it’s not important) and honestly you can get this discount (or better) at any class; any time. I just think if we’re going to have a “month” that it should be for “Affordable Housing” (you can capitalize that if you want), “REALTOR® Safety”, REALTOR® Good Neighbor” etc… Celebrating a training designation is a little self-serving and I think we should concentrate more on public image and such.
I think the underlying point is that education attendance is down across the board because we don’t all $400 a pop for a class in this market. The e-PRO program is pretty useless on-line – it’s just too basic for the generation who wish to take it. I am hoping that in the future it’ll become more substantial – we all need more education.
